Cycling Pro Road & MtbVacansoleil Pro Cycling Team has February program set out
On January 31st 2010 the Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team opens the cycling season at the GP d'Ouverture La Marseillaise. In 2009 Johnny Hoogerland finished in fifth place in this difficult 1.1. Following this race the team will start at the Etoile de Bessèges from February 3th till February 7th. Björn Leukemans won the first race ever for the Vacansoleil-team at the 2009 edition of Bessèges. After this French race the team appears in the Tour of Qatar and Oman. Meanwhile another group will do the Tour Méditerranéen. The last preparation for the Flamish opening weekend will be done at the Volta ao Algarve and Ruta Del Sol. In the final weekend of February follows Omloop het Nieuwsblad (1.HC), Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne and the Clasica Almeria. Sport director Hilaire Van Der Schueren is happy with the program: “In November we individually talked with all riders about their program and ambition. If you look at the program for February all riders can certainly get some races done. In these races we will be full of ambition because a good start gives good spirit to the team.” In La Marseillaise the following riders attend for Vacansoleil: Borut Bozic (Slovenia) Brice Feillu, Romain Feillu (France), Marco Marcato (Italy), Frederik Veuchelen, Björn Leukemans (Belgium), Johnny Hoogerland and Lieuwe Westra (The Netherlands).
