The Quick Step Team is preparing itself for a busy and  important month of January. The team will be gathering for their annual team training camp at the Hotel Esmeralda in Calpe from the 11th until 21st January. This will be a fundamental moment in the preparation of the team ready for the first races of the 2010 season. “On the first day of the training camp we will be concentrating on final tests that will evaluate each athlete’s physiological conditions; after this  we will then be able to define personalised training programmes  for each athlete with the aim of preparing them in the best possible way for them to achieve their goals – the team’s Sporting Manager Luca Guercilena said – At the same time we will also be going over and trying  out a few strategic and tactical situations  typical of the final sprints in order to bring the team together working as one in preparation for the first races of the season”. The Team’s new arrival Iljo Keisse will not be present as he will be taking part in 6 Days races at Rotterdam and Bremen.  However, Iljo will be joining the team on the 22nd January for the Official Team Presentation in Kortrijk Expo during  Velo Follies event. Athletes taking part in the Tour Down Under (19th - 24th January) will obviously not be joining the rest of the Team in Spain either.
