The cycling Classics season has started this Saturday with an impressive win of Juan Antonio Flecha (SKY Professional Cycling Team) in the Belgian “Omloop Het Nieuwsblad”. In cold, wet and windy conditions, Flecha was the first Spaniard ever to win this race. An important victory for himself, but also for his brand new SKY cycling team. All riders of the team are using the SHIMANO DURA-ACE Di2 electronic shifting system (and DURA-ACE wheels), proving once again its advantages in demanding conditions as these.

Flecha reached the finish line alone, after a solo race of twenty kilometers following an aggressive attack on the cobblestones. A great success for Flecha, who already finished 2nd in this race in 2007 and 3rd in 2009. We are all looking forward to some exciting races in the coming weeks!
