Cycling Pro Road & MtbMilan-San Remo: BMC Racing Team Full Of Experience
The opportunity to participate in the opening Spring Classic, Milan-San Remo, helps the BMC Racing Team stay on track toward its primary goals for the season, according to President Jim Ochowicz. Course Reconnaissance Planned "We are excited to be participants in this historic classic," Ochowicz said. "This invitation confirms our team's position in the peloton." Director Sportif John Lelangue said the BMC Racing Team brings four experienced leaders to Saturday's 298 km race: Alessandro Ballan (eighth in 2006), Marcus Burghardt, George Hincapie (ninth in 2001) and Karsten Kroon. "It can be a selective race or it can be one for the sprinters," Lelangue said. "This is a race that you really have to learn. So we will do reconnaissance of the last 80 km so we're ready for the final climbs and the last 10 km of terrific downhill off the Poggio."
