Cycling Pro Road & MtbBMC Racing Team-Three Days of De Panne: Final Tune-Up For Flanders
The BMC Racing Team will utilize the Three Days of De Panne as final preparation for Sunday's Belgian Classic, the Tour of Flanders. The three-day, four-stage race begins Tuesday. Ballan, Kroon Aiming For Good Result BMC Racing Team Director Sportif John Lelangue said the team will look to Alessandro Ballan - winner of De Panne in 2007 and runner-up in 2005 - and Karsten Kroon. Road races of 198 km (Tuesday), 214 km (Wednesday) and 112 km (Thursday morning) on cobblestone roads are followed by a 14.8 km time trial Thursday afternoon. "There are two schools of thought for this race," Lelangue said. "You can race to prepare for Flanders or try to make a good result and take a psychological advantage. Ballan and Kroon want to make a good race because it's right before Flanders."
