Le Mans 24H Cycling Race

The 3rd edition of the 24 Hours Cycling Race will be held on the 20th and 21st of August on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans (France). This cycling race is opened to everyone, by teams of 2, 4, 6 or 8 people and solo riders. Registrations can be made on www.24heuresvelo.fr and a special rate is offered for every team registered before the 28th of February. They were about 1200 riders in 2009 and 1600 in 2010, which is a promising increase for the organisators.

This year, the Le Mans 24H’s riders will succeed to the professionals ones of the Tour de France. The seventh stage, between Le Mans and Châteauroux, will start with a few kilometers on the Bugatti circuit the 8th of July. What a nice wink!

In 2010 and for the first time, an access near the racetrack all along the famous Dunlop bend was possible and it will be the same in 2011 (see the photo above). In addition, this way would be longer than last year, for the biggest pleasure of the spectators, used to stand behind the railings during the automobile’s races.

Objective on London. Among about ten countries representated, Britanics are on the first place. Romain Gasnal (CGO) speaks about it: « Is that because of their passion for automobile or maybe because of our relationship with Action Medical Research (AMR), the organisators of RIDE24, race of 24H on the Goodwood circuit ? Probably the both. » The Champions of Cyclesort, a charity dinner organisated at the Emirate Stadium of Arsenal by AMR, was a nice way to make the contact with famous riders like Chris Boardman, David Millar or Nicole Cooke. « It would be a pleasure to welcome them on the Bugatti circuit in August 2011. » confide the team of the Le Mans Cycling Race’s organisation.
