Alberto Contador presented 'his' MTB team for the Titan Desert

Was held in Pinto the official presentation of the 'Specialized-Contador-MSF' team, that will take part in the next edition of the Titan Desert and has the support of Alberto Contador and the involvement of his brother Fran.

Alberto attended the event to support an initiative aimed to raising money to support the Emergency Fund of Doctors Without Borders. Fans can buy every kilometer of the team at 10 Euros, directly on the MSF website.

This is the second consecutive year in which the Contador team will ride the Titan Desert, which in 2009 had only 4 riders, but in 2010 will consist of 14, all friends of Alberto Contador from Madrid, Andalusia and Catalonia.

“When I heard the project, I quickly accepted both by Specialized as Doctors Without Borders, because it is a great idea”, said Alberto Contador. “The only advice I can give to my brother and everyone else is going to enjoy. It is a beautiful race and this year have the extra motivation of Doctors Without Borders, so I think it will be a success”.

Alberto said that perhaps in the future also will ride the Titan Desert. "Who knows, maybe in the future is possible”, he said. Now it is impossible both because my calendar and for the risks involved, but just when I retired, like Jalabert, with which I have been talking about this race. For now I let my brother and my friends”.

Alberto Contador will travel tomorrow to Burgos, where begins on Wednesday, the Tour of Castilla and Leon, his next appointment. It's a course that I like and this tour has always been good for me”, he said. “This year is later on the calendar and that is not good for allergies, but the forecast shows rain and that is good for me”.

Alberto said the 15-kilometer time trial is fine. “It's a distance that suits me, as well as the Morredero finish. I do not know this climb, but I know it's hard, but not constant, with ramps”.

About the team Astana, Contador said he is very happy. “It's working very well, because my team always has a difficult challenge on the races, to control, and we're having a good season, controlling every race by force or taking advantage of tactical situations. I see all the riders are excited and I'm happy because we will have trouble making the list of Tour riders as there are many ready to go”.

Contador finally answered some questions about Armstrong and his recent schedule change, which will not match again before the Tour. “Everyone choose the most appropriate schedule”, he said without going into controversy. “I think his only motivation is in terms of his planning. Each one has its own way to prepare. I like to compete fairly in the early season and although his calendar is not the one I like, he will have done their calculations”, he said.
