News"Asia Bike": a new trade fair for sportive bikes in China
One ticket, two fairs is the motto of “asia bike”, a new bicycle trade fair that is to be held for the fi rst time in Nanjing, China, from 27 to 30 July 2011 – right next door to the 6th Asia Outdoor, which will be held at the same time and place. "asia bike" is a special fair for mountain bikes, sports and luxury bikes, cycling clothing and accessories. The concurrent Asia Outdoor has developed into China’s leading outdoor fair and, in 2010, attracted 16,326 visitors and 359 exhibitors on 32,000 m² exhibition space. The organisers of “asia bike” and Asia Outdoor are Nanjing Nantex International Exhibition Centre and German Messe Exhibition Consulting Ltd. Beijing. The shareholders of German Messe Consulting are Messe Friedrichshafen; Asia Outdoor Marketing, Hong Kong and Beijing, and Alpinist Outdoor Media, Beijing. The coordinator for Asia Outdoor and “asia bike” is Knut Jaeger, who is also responsible for marketing the two events. Knut Jaeger co-founded OutDoor Friedrichshafen in 1994 and has worked as a management consultant in Hong Kong and China since 2004. The aim of the organisers is to exploit the great synergies generated by outdoor activities and sports bikes (especially mountain bikes). In China, many outdoor dealers already sell mountain or trekking bikes together with the associated fashions and accessories. Thus, the combination of these two fairs promises a variety of extremely interesting cross-over effects. For 2011, the organisers are planning an area of 36,000 to 38,000 m² for Asia Outdoor and approximately 12,000 m² for “asia bike”. A new concept and a new venue To cater for the growing demand for exhibition space, the 6th Asia Outdoor will move in 2011 from the Exhibition Centre at Lake Xuanwu to the new Nanjing International Expo Centre. Thanks to the size of the new venue, it is also possible to hold the two fairs concurrently. The International Expo Centre is an ultra modern and luxurious facility in Nanjing Hexi New Town – a new district of Nanjing – that only opened in 2008. The Expo Centre is in the immediate vicinity of the Olympic Sports Centre and is distinguished by a perfect infrastructure.
