NewsTirreno-Adriatico, Stage 1: Staying Out Of Trouble
The BMC Racing Team successfully achieved its goal of staying out of trouble and not losing time on Wednesday's rainy, cold opening stage of Tirreno-Adriatico, said Director Sportif John Lelangue. Evans Fifth Overall World champion Cadel Evans was third in a time bonus sprint, moving him to fifth overall. "We knew it was too close to the finish for the sprinters and it was uphill," Lelangue said. "So I told the guys to take a look at it the first time we went over it." Linus Gerdemann (Team Milram) won the race from a four-man break that finished a few feet ahead of the pack.
