Q&A

Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu vs Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu-carbon

Dear Editor,

I am writing to get clarification about purchase of my first racing bike. Looking for a comfortable bike, to make healthy sport without competitive ambitions, but let me-in-time to enjoy the best fantasy world of amateur cycling. A little for the prestige of the brand, a little because I have a dealer a few miles from home, some because the model in question seems to suit my needs all I'm thinking purchase of a Bianchi C2C. Excluding the carbon model for budget reasons I remain to be decided between the model Via Nirone 7 Alu 2009 with carbon fork and the model Via Nirone 7 Alu-carb with fork and rear wagon carbon. What you recommended between the two models for my own use? It is worthwhile to send more money here? Whichever is most appropriate for a person of robust physique like mine?

Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu

Dear Reader, Bianchi has a special charm and one of the few Italian companies whose products are popular and appreciated abroad. Unfortunately does not make good products by price and quality and in every product should be considered a plus price ranged from 100 to 300 and more Euros than similar competing products. Is one of the few bikes that maintain a proper value on the market and a relatively easy selling. The final account, therefore, be considered in balance to the point of view and remains the advantage of owning a bike that has done and continues to make history of the world of cycling. The differences between the two models chosen by you are very limited. The fork is the same for both models and as the chassis exception made for senior sheaths rear of the wagon which are aluminium model alu and carbon-kevlar model for carbon. This solution brings the carbon model to be more comfortable on disconnections compared to the model alu, but deepest without differences. In fact considering your weight, maybe you should stay on alu model, although Bianchi does not impose a limit to the weight of the bike's cyclist. But the connection between aluminium and carbon, which occurs with special glues, is the most sensitive and liable to have a noise in the long term, this model alu and no doubt more shown, both for his physique and his need not to many send money, also, I repeat, because the differences in behavior on the street are really minimal. The difference of price between the two models, in fact, is rather different from the assembly, more refined model alu-carbon, but in this case the differences are not deepest. Certainly the model alu-carb Veloce-mix is overall better than the model alu-Sora mix. Differences over that in the chassis are in the crank, in hubs, in stem, handlebars, in pedals and brakes, in addition to the group. Again, the best quality of the components of the more expensive model does not lead to improvements so obvious, however, the best components justify the price difference between the two products. But your views need not spend a lot of money, your weight and the fact that comes close for the first time to bike racing model alu Sora-mix I think is more appropriate, postponing major purchases in a future where hope to have more economic availability. Regarding the model alu Sora-mix, I suggest, however, some interventions particularly in the crank and the rear sprockets. Given your weight, in fact, and especially the fact that comes close now to the bike I recommend that shorten the reports, where you will face climbs to a certain level would be optimal to have a crank 34/50, instead of 36/50 (possible solution simply by changing the small crown with a modest expenditure) and the sprocket package with an appropriate 12-28 or even 13-28, your seller will know how to assemble it. With regard to the wheels can safely take what you have in mind, but the council also consider replacing just the hubs, with other Shimano Sora or Tiagra, and tires, with Vittoria Diamante Pro or Open Corsa Evo CX. For the rest the bike is excellent for its price’s range and suitable use which will be put. Finally, I remember a recomand that used to give a well-known technical: "Before improving your bike, improves your physical performance ...".
