Q&ACannondale Super Six Hi Mod VS Specialized Tarmac SL3 VS Look 695 SR
Hello, I would like to congratulate for the excellent website that you propose to us fans, rarely happens to come across so professional and valid sites. I am writing to subject you to a question that might seem more of a "headache" (or so it is for me ...) but I need your advice. I am willing to change my road bike and I have proposed four alternatives: S-Works Tarmac SL3, Look 695, Scapin Hysak, Cannondale Super Six Hi Mod. I would also ask an opinion on the integrated seatpost which is present on two models concerned. I realize that expressing an opinion on so many options is difficult and delicate, but, again, I would like to have your opinion ... Signed letter
Dear Reader, thanks for the compliments. The four bikes are very different from each other. The integrated seatpost we have repeatedly expressed our doubts, also based on several interviews with renowned technicians. Look 695, good news among the most beautiful bike in 2011, has a list price of much higher Cannondale and Specialized, therefore it is impossible to compare. A similar for Hysak Scapin, which among other things promises to lower overall performance and not comparable to the three other bikes. It seems clear that, regardless of budget, the bike with the best performance is obtained starting from the Look 695, which has a frame, fork, and crankset very light and rigid, the rest of the components should be chosen as a result mortifying performance penalty of a loom, which I reiterate, it is excellent, including the integrated seatpost that unlike Scapin Hysak is not a simple extension of the pipe, but an integral part of the frame of a completely different design and workmanship (not all integrated seatpost are equal ...). Cannondale and Specialized, are more comparable to each other and offer a price/performance ratio better than the Look 695. There are two bikes are very similar and equivalent in overall performance. Lighter than the Cannondale, just stiffer than the Specialized. Both are well assembled, but Cannondale makes less use of products "home made" present diffusely on the Specialized range for more than excellent. Taking a ranking, starting from a budget that preference must be a Cannondale Super Six Hi Mod, followed closely by Specialized Tarmac SL3 and then, well spaced, the Look 695. For pure performance, regardless of budget, the best performance is obtained with the Look 695 SR, which is among the best chassis in 2011.
