I am a fan of mountain biking, recently my friends are "pushing" to buy a road bike to participate in the next 9 Colli (a bit like a little personal challenge and passion for the bike in general). In anticipation of a purchase, I visited biomechanics, are 182 cm high, 86 horse, trunk 63, it is suggested a frame with 55 cm seat tube and top tube 60.

I want to buy a Cannondale Synapse also because they tell me, very suitable for long travel. My question is this: according to theoretical calculations of my size should be 56, but seeing the geometry of the Synapse, perhaps a 58 would be better? Or perhaps misinterpreted the measures on the site?

The Cannondale Synapse, in the two versions of Carbon and Carbon Hi Mod, as well as in the version Alloy, has some special geometric dimensions. Like all not extreme bikes expected a shorter top tube to get a bust not stretched on the bike and get a more comfortable ride. One of the major errors they commit these fans is to choose a bike and then transfer the driving position, which usually is used on models extreme, this would negate much of the positive features of these models. The geometry of the Cannondale Synapse vary slightly depending on whether carbon or aluminum frame. In the first case we have to measure 61 a horizontal of 60 cm and a vertical by 56 cm. These are the measures that are needed. My advice however, is to take the measure 58, which has a 58 mm horizontal and a vertical 53 cm. A smaller size that allows for the torso slightly more elevated and have a greater comfort to the detriment, of course, the aerodynamics, this, however, can be more easily found with a greater use of low grip, that will be more easier and less fatiguing. The model alloy, as far as 61, has a horizontal distance of 60 cm and 58 cm vertically: its size. But here too, and always for the reasons mentioned above, board size 58, which has a horizontal 58 cm long and a vertical by 55 cm. Remember that a frame between large and small is always better to choose a small one. This is slightly lighter and stiffer and can more easily re-establish the right measures, compared to a larger model.
