TechniqueOn test: Campagnolo Record 11V
Campagnolo Record 11V is not new, but remains one of the most interesting design features, weight and functionality. It 's also the group most often used by teams because cheaper than Super Record, although slightly heavier, but still allows the bike to create a regulatory UCI weight limit. Also during 2009 after several teams had preferred to remain anchored to the old record 10V, as a matter of reliability, in 2010 all records were updated with the 11V, whose positive features have convinced even the most sceptical.
Controls: commands are of type Ultra-Shift, the new ergonomic levers that allow a more comfortable position when holding the hands on the controls and more particularly to challenge both the brake levers when your hands are positioned on top of the handlebar is the bottom. The brake levers are carbon fiber as the body. The movement on bearings, while the opening control lever is integrated into the brake lever. And 'provided an insert for large hands, the cover supports are silicon variable density. It can make multiple changes and micro adjustment of the derailleur. The screws are alloy gears as the gears, which are treated with a hard anodizing. The large crown has 8 pins to facilitate the passage of the chain. The combination of the two cranks are made via two semi integrated with crank pins and united with the same Ultra Torque system. The bearings are ceramic with high smoothness. The road test
As usual, the group achieved record is so perfect and hard to find a flaw in its implementation. The installation is always easy, although it is made accurately and precisely to ensure smooth operation, which might seem obvious, but it is not. Overall, the group then weighs only 56 grams more, all in all low-value and reduced by adopting a team Record with sprocket Super Record. Riding appreciates the ergonomic controls, which adapt well to both large and small hands with the levers near the handlebars. The new profile of the handles ensures a better grip in all conditions, especially on high grip. Now you can then have a better driving control and braking with hands in the upper part of commands, improving driving safety and comfort. Improved range of levers for the passage of the report, now reduced and smoother operation and light. Positive as always, that you can increase or scale marches simultaneously with one movement. The power front brake remains high, with a good scalability even in wet conditions, while the rear brake is more powerful modular, allowing a more secure braking in wet and slippery conditions; dry, however, you want more stopping power. The pressure required is relatively low and the levers always proportional to braking that it receives. The rear derailleur work precise and fast, quieter than the old 10 speed records. Even uphill the chain fast shooting accuracy in passage of relationship never fails, even if the test was not very long (1,000 mile), then, we never needed to change settings after first making point, confirming the maturity of this product, but also of the need for proper assembly and careful to avoid being left with a chain wear excessive and frequent request for development of derailleurr. Even the front derailleur ensures fast and precise ratio steps, and again it became faster and more precise than the old 10 speed. Excellent cranks, very light, but also rigid and smooth, able to meet the needs of athletes stronger. We deliberately tested a particular solution, compact crankset and 12-29 sprocket set, a solution introduced this season. This is a very interesting choice for the amateur and confirmed its validity with a very wide range of relationships, are sufficiently long downhill, but rose in the toughest courts, which can be tackled with ease by doing "windmills" legs. For stronger, obviously it is better to use the classic 39/53 crankset combined with a 11-23 or 12-27 for the plain for the climb. In conclusion, the group Record confirmed his undoubted quality and excellent design features high, low weight and high functionality: suitable agony, as confirmed in races, but also the amateur and discerning eye for quality. The price is about 2258 euros, but a high price in proportion to its quality, but unfortunately the best deals, with substantial discounts are always on the Super Record group and it is unfortunate, because this Record is very good and has good value for money.
