Continental has renewed its clincher cyclocross top range, with the new version CycloX-King 2012. Evolution of the range MTB X-King, the new CycloX-King is designed for maximum speed and grip in all conditions of use.
The new nylon carcass with 180 TPI (threads per inch) add the new tread compound "Black Chili compound". This compound is produced in laboratories Continental in Hanover, where Continental developed a blend of synthetic rubber and nano particles which improve the mechanical properties. With the use of nano technology has been possible to increase the smoothness of 26% of the rubber, increasing the grip of 30% and 5% the length of the tread itself. The arrangement of the blocks has been optimized to have a good mud evacuation, and an effective grip when cornering. It's available in Race Sport version with Black Chili compound 700x32 and weighing 320 grams, as well as in the Basic version, the normal compound, 84TPI 700x35 and 700x42 measures, in versions: 700x35 "foldable black skins" (380 grams); 700x35 "black skins" (450 grams); 700x42 "foldable black skins" (420 grams); 700x42 "Black Skins Reflex" (490 grams).
