FULCRUM unveils the new RACING SPEED XLR 80 mm & RACING SPEED 80 mm and the new DARK LABEL colouring

For 2012 the Fulcrum family of high profile carbon wheels is expanding with the new Racing Speed XLR 80 and the new Dark Label versions of the Racing Speed 0mm and the Racing Speed XLR 50 mm and 80mm.

So the big news for 2012 is the introduction of the brand new Fulcrum high profile carbon 80mm wheels. They’ll be called Racing Speed XLR 80 and, as mentioned, they’ll be available in the classic colouring that distinguishes the Racing XLR 50mm as well as in the new Dark Label version. Created to satisfy the specific demand of professional racers for a wheel with a higher profile but still easy to handle, the new RacingXLR80mm has been designed to better penetrate the air and at the same time guarantee extreme acceleration and manoeuvrability, even with as ide wind.

Tested first in the windtunnel and then on the road, the new 80mm wheels guarantee an optimum level of aerodynamic penetration without penalising the wheel’shandling, steering, and reactivity.

The new 80mm models are equipped with carbon hubs and oversize aluminium flanges. The bearings with CULT technology are adjustable thanks to the cone/capsystem.

All the wheels of the RacingSpeed family feature the spoke anti-rotation system that assures the consistently correct and aerodynamic position of the spoke.

All the wheels employ Two-to-One™ spoke pattern: on the rear wheel, 18 stainless steel aerospokes that maximise the efficiency of transferring the athlete’spower to the wheel, and on the front wheel, 16 radial spokes in stainless steel with aerodynamic profile.

The new RacingSpeedXLR80 wheelset weighs in at 1540g(715g+825g), an extremely competitive weight compared to an analogous wheels available on the market.

In addition, in response to the new market trend where wear eseeing a proliferation of matteblack frames, Fulcrum decided to createa special colouring for the RacingSpeed50mm and RacingSpeedXLR50mm and 80mm. The new version will be called DarkLabel and will have the same technical features as the RacingSpeed and RacingSpeedXLR models.
