TechniqueFulcrum Red Heat
In 2011, the Fulcrum DH/Freeride wheel series will be getting a new wheel: Fulcrum Red Heat. With this new entry, Fulcrum proves it wants to grow in the Downhill and Freeride, worlds which the red “F” already “occupies” with its indestructible Red Fire. Resulting from close collaboration between Fulcrum engineers and the more demanding riders, Red Heat is the ideal choice for an approach to the DH/FR world.
Red Heat was designed to be solid and strong, ready to face any obstacle and land with no problems after any jump. It weighs no more than 2200 g., an excellent category result. Designed to be used with the classic clincher and tube, Red Heat has a 22 mm wide rim (class C25) giving you better track and ground grip. Dedicated graphics make this wheel really aggressive and are studied to make bikes with wide handlebars and “ranges” over 150 mm more catchy. Hubs are oversize, in aluminium alloy, and adopt to the Thru-axle standard (20 mm/110mm for the front wheel and 12 mm/150mm for the rear) allowing you to increase rigidity with more control over the wheel and avoiding possible disc/ pad contact.
There are 32 straight head, reinforced spokes for both front and rear. In variable section stainless steel (Ø 2,2/2/1,8/2). Easy and simple to maintain thanks to self-blocking nipples and the ease with which spokes can be replaced. Red Heat is compatible with ISO 6-bolt braking systems.
