Preview Shimano 2011: XTR 2011

 

 

 

Shimano introduces the new MTB XTR group, which is completely revised with the new standard shimano 3x10 Dyna-Sys and, thanks to a greater variety of components, is directed not only to the Cross Country (XC), but also All Mountain (AM).

As always XTR is the benchmark of the range Shimano weight, materials and solutions adopted. The new standard Dyna-Sys will be adopted as 3x10 or 2x10, with a wide variety of toppings dedicated. So after the XT and SLX groups, now is updated with XTR 10 speed, as we have seen, led Shimano engineers to redesign the entire group and each individual component. The Dyna-Sys, in fact, not only allows the adoption of the 10 speed, but is designed to have a more rapid transition ratio, improved smoothness, more precisely in steps of running a better metric development in all dealings, greater reliability and longevity of components. XTR group also introduces a new technology called Ice-Tec, this is a new friction material for brakes and new brake calipers that reduce the temperature thereof, by enabling a more modular braking, fatigue resistance and powerful. Another novelty is the I-Spec, is mounting integrated brake levers and controls that allowed you to save 10 grams. The new integrated controls are able to be adjusted horizontally to perfectly adapt to the hands of the athlete. The new XTR pedals are lighter and the group has completed a new set of wheels.
