We tested the new group that does not betray the expectations

The new standard Shimano Dyna-SYS is not just a plus, but completely revamped the group to achieve greater reliability, component durability, smoothness, reduced friction and more speed in steps of relationship. The new Dyna-SYS debuted with the group XT and SLX, which has added the XTR model. In any case there are three new main components: the crank, the sprocket and chain. The XT crankset has a new range of relationships that move from traditional to new 24/32/42 22/23/44 teeth teeth both sprocket 10 speed: 11/34, 11/32 and 11/36 teeth. The new XT chain is not compatible with the groups from the road, but it uses the same technology, then a single direction and is different in each mesh with the inside which is designed to facilitate the transition from small cog in the big one and outside for easy descent from the great to the small sprocket. The union between the new crankset and sprocket dedicated allows a greater variety of relationships with less distance between a relationship and the other, this also allows a better chain line, which has a more straight passage, allowing a reduction in friction and improved smoothness, as well as reducing wear of components. The shortest distance between the three crowns facilitates the speed and precision passing in the chain from 32 to 24, with a drop of only 8 teeth, compared to 10 earlier, and 32 to 42, with a jump of 10 teeth instead of 12 teeth, as in the past.
These details in the band Dyna-XT SYS:
Crank
Available in the one combination of 42-32-24T rings. The cranks can be from 165, 170, 175 and 180 mm.
Rear Derailleur
The derailleur comes in two configurations, medium or long cage. The long cage has a total capacity of 43T (SGS), while the average cage has a total capacity of 35T (GS).
Front Derailleur
The derailleur is provided in four different versions:
FD-M770 Top Swing Front Derailleur-10
10E-FD-M770 Top Swing Front Derailleur (BB Mount)
FD-M771-10 Front Derailleur Down Swing
FD-M771-10D Direct Mount Front Derailleur
Controls SL-M770-10 / R
The controls have dual route of action and the possibility of multiple changes to go from small cog in the big one.
Cassette CS-M771-10
There are three available 11-36t cassette cogs, 11-34T and 11-32T
This development of the various combinations:
11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-32-36
11-13-15-17-19-21-23-26-30-34
11-12-14-16-18-20-22-25-28-32
Chain CN-HG94 HG-X 10-speed
The new chain has only one direction and different profiles to facilitate the entry and exit from a relationship to another.
The road test
Is difficult at first to understand the differences between the new XT and its predecessor, in fact the only elements different are the words Dyna-SYS and the sprocket 10 speed instead of 9. Remains a group of high quality, with perfect execution and gives competitors only a few grams on the scales in favor, however, a high reliability and overall quality. Even compared all'XTR does not regret for quality and functionality. The ergonomics of command remains the best known and already the old XT levers near and from the excursion is not particularly high. Always useful to the possibility of multiple exchange pity that this new version is only possible to go from small to large sprockets and not vice versa. Compared with the previous XT XT the new Dyna-SYS, it improves the fluidity of action commands that are now much smoother, also restrict the travel of the levers, even if minimally. The XT disc brakes are not affected and remain well-known ones, can be both powerful modular requiring only an effort to gain leverage for powerful brakes and decided, on the other hand is always able to modulate the brakes so much better even on slippery. Excellent fatigue, even over long runs, which are often called in stock. The new crankset is very stiff and smooth confirmation. The new choice of crowns, combined with the new derailleur, actually allow the passage between a crown and the other much faster and accurate. Even with the mud or pull the chain, the transition between different crowns remains fluid, precise, fast and silent. Behavior much better than the old XT. Also the rear derailleur offers the same benefits with a transition between the various reports more quickly, accurately and always silent. Particularly in the 6-core, switching from one sprocket to another is really fast, quiet and precise. Effectively, then, the new metric development, allows a closer relationship of scale, enabling better find the most appropriate combination, while the chain can follow a straighter line allowing greater fluidity and higher than the previous XT. Metric development of various reports is able to meet anyone with the 24/34 is appropriate to the toughest climbs, but only in the downhill on asphalt 42/11 could be short, but it is an extreme case and nothing in common bike. In conclusion, the new XT Dyna-SYS 3x10 is an excellent development of the previous model, the stiffer crankset, flow and allows the passage of relationship faster and safer. Excellent new metric development, with ratios closer together. A great group detaches and performance from the previous XT, suitable for all the fans and also to agonists. For the undecided between this XT and XTR 3x9 3x10 is definitely preferred the latter for its overall quality and performance increase compared to the old standard 3x9. The price of the group without disc brakes, should be around 565 Euro, about 100 Euros more than the old XT, the price is commensurate with the quality and performance of the group.
Positive aspects
Build quality
Fluency
Speed ratio in steps
Scale reports available
Fluidity of the controls
Quietness
Negative aspects
Lacks the possibility of multiple exchange ratio to fall
