A very good saddle for perineal problem

The model SMP Lite 209 has the same basic structure typical of SMP saddles, but is characterized by the size of majority that would accentuate the comfort. The hull is nylon 12 loaded with carbon fiber, the sleigh is made of stainless steel AISI 304, with various points of reference for its proper positioning and padding is in foamed elastomer. The coating is in full-grain leather. The length is 273 mm while the width is 139 mm. The declared weight is 310 grams. Available colours are black, yellow, red, blue and white. With our equipment we found a weight of 328 grams.
Road test
Characteristic of all the SMP saddle is the fact that they are built with the intent to eliminate any pressure on the perineum; this or to determine the technical choices and aesthetics. The beak of the saddle nose is designed to provide a base for greater control of the bike and the efforts in sitting position, when dealing with long climbs. The rear raised avoids squashing of the coccyx. The wide central opening is designed to avoid crushing anus, prostate, pudendal veins, deep dorsal vein and artery of the penis, scrotum and testicles. On this model, then, we find the mark and the name embroidered saddle and a long slide that facilitates the correct positioning. For adjusting the tilt, the level should be balanced on the tip and back edge, then place the saddle too far down the tip to 20 millimeters in order to harmonize the radius of the saddle with the radius of the ischial tuberosity and the branch top of the isc. This inclination particular allow a more comfortable and avoids that there are intense problems of adaptation. The conformation of the same saddle causes the rider to assume a position quite constrained, with no tendency to slide forward or back, always maintaining the ideal location. Therefore it is important to adjust well even forward-backward movement of the saddle, because, unlike other products, this is less easy to retreat or advance the body sliding on the saddle to correct any set-up. The Lite 209, confirming a well-made saddle, unfortunately weighs just as other SMP, while the union between the hull and leather could be done more elegantly. Now we use the pins, efficient but not very elegant. Otherwise the build quality of a product made in Italy high-end it all. The saddle is valued, broader base of support from other SMP models, this allows you to download better body weight and over a wider area. Like other models SMP stuffing elastomer is very strong, so it can be hard if not using a good pad. But over long distances is almost more comfortable than many saddles softer at first contact, but then, rolled, are less comfortable as they spend hours in the saddle. Good ability to absorb vibration, even if we are not at the level of saddles with sleds in carbon. But the greatest merit of this saddle, like the other products in SMP is the total decompression of the perineum: Can not feel soreness at the private parts with these saddles. The wide opening is excellent also for the ventilation of the suprasellar, which are only about good. Equally good is the power of pedalling with a handicap minimized thanks to the front very narrow. More uncomfortable, however, take a stopwatch-style, in saddle point, because the support is very small. But I do not want to be a time trial saddle, whereas a saddle is ideal for the enthusiast that seeks a total decompression of the genital organs and a good comfort on long rides thanks to the support base of good size. They will not make the event even at high weight, irrelevant when searching for a certain characteristic such as comfort. The price, unfortunately, remains one of the these products, the Lite 209 costs around 180 Euro price, not just for its weight, but online you can also find offers of 130 Euros and is the only saddle that eliminates really any compression on the perineum.
