 An ideal clincher for winter time, with an excellent grip on wet

 We have tested, not yet available, the version with 120 threads per inch Rubino Pro Tech.  This is characterized by anti puncture PRB (Puncture Resistant Belting) and Mithril, which consists of a polymer that reinforces the sides of the carcass without undermining the flexibility, but getting better the resistance to cutting and drilling. The new range Vittoria Rubino Pro tires has recently been updated with the introduction of carcasses with 150 threads per inch; new for the 2010 season.

The tread compound is characterized by "Aquagrip 3D Compound", specially designed to improve grip on wet or slippery. This, then, how about other products Victoria, dual tread compound: hard in the middle, just where the wear occurs, and softer on the sides, so as to ensure a better grip in corners. The central tread pattern in the shape slick, while the sides is the tread Prisma COM Vector Design, this is a series of small "spearheads" rubber placed on the sides to improve the rolling resistance and a rapid disposal of water on wet roads. Latter aspect is further enhanced by a series of regular grooves that allow better drainage of the tread from the center outwards. The range of measures provides these combinations, all for 28 inch wheels: 700x23, 25.28. The weights are between 240 grams of 700x23 and 280 grams of 700x28. The recommended inflation pressure is 7 / 10 bar for versions 23 and 25 millimeters and 5 / 8 bars for the version of 28 millimeters. The color is black only, with the classic side band gray demonstrates the use of technology Mithril. We, as far 700x23, we found a weight of 246 grams, in line with the representations made by Vittoria.

Road test

 We have long tried this clincher is wet, damp, and even on some stretch of dirt road to see the actual puncture resistance. The clincher mounting requires a minimum of patience more than other products, why has the sides more rigid and less remain in place during the assembly stage on the rim. This lateral rigidity due to the presence of Mithril, but you feel the move, where we rediscover the positive characteristics of the famous Rubino Pro clincher is not a lightweight at all, in line with other similar products, but very smooth. The comfort, good for the category is not limited by reinforcement Mithril, although down from products of the highest range, with dead anyway cotton and nylon, there is clearly a greater rigidity. Instead, inflated up to the bars allowed, no appreciable drop in performance experience, he stood in high-end products, thanks to an excellent smoothness. The weight can be felt only in the revival or the steepest climbs, where the action is a bit slow, but it is a trifle that does not compromise the quality of the product which is excellent for the category. The grip, however, is perfect in every condition. In dry conditions it is always safe and in turn are unable to venture far more than it should thanks to the excellent communication that is established with the tread that always feels when he is losing grip. Damp or wet asphalt better, it shows the various advantages of Rubino Pro Tech, with a grip far superior to the Rubino Pro. So you can go fast in maximum security. Excellent evacuation water on the wet and also with high blood pressure you can always have a secure grip and reassuring. Precisely for this reason you can not, under these conditions, to go faster than other products, maybe lighter and better performing, but only on paper. The anti drilling, at least during our test, it has proved very effective and although we have roads in poor condition (even in this matter, to the "rope" the product) we have not suffered from any drilling, more than good, then duration, with consumption of small and regular. A clincher so, ideal for grip and safety during the winter season or in the rain, perfect for those who are training all year and wants a safe and reliable. It is also excellent for cycling, because it has good performance and an effective system of protection of drills, along with good durability. The price is about 29 Euro, proportional to the product quality.
