A good clincher for training 

The clincher Vittoria Zaffiro Pro was recently proposed in the new white version to better adapt to the new "fashion" that sees the colour white as a favourite by cyclists. From the technical point of view the new clincher does not differ from the previous Zaffiro.

We have a nylon casing with 60 threads per inch. The casing is fitted with anti-puncture PRB and produced with Aramid Endura 3D Compound, a special compound that provides excellent durability and low rolling resistance. The tread, then, has deeper cuts in the middle and lower and wider on the sides for better water dispersion. The recommended inflation pressure is 7-10 bar. The available colours are black, red, purple, yellow and white. The sizes available are 700x20 (black only) and 700x23. In the latter measure is declared a weight of 240 grams, while we  detected 260g.

Road test

The clincher Zaffiro Pro is a product that was created explicitly for winter training. Easy to mount its white colour blends best with the look of bikes with white graphics. Aside from aesthetics, however, the clincher is also highlights other positive aspects. The flow is good, very good for the category, and only partially compromised by a casing that can not compete with more advanced products. The weight, just high, cool off in raises, but nothing to worry about, and then we are talking about a clincher from training. On uneven comfort is only fair, due primarily to low numbers of ICC, but for the category, even in this case, the behaviour is more than good. The grip, however, is more than good and always very safe in every situation. In dry runs are safe, even when cornering and braking, with support always sincere. The tread favours stability and support, both in straight that under braking, and speed for inclusion in the corners, but even this aspect contributes to the feeling of extra security. Asphalt wet grip continues to be very reassuring, as the wet, in such situations arise the full features of this product that manages to maintain an effective and secure grip even under the most difficult, as the road flooded, or on wet treacherous mountain. Excellent durability, with consumption expected to provide about 5000 kilometers from a period at least. In conclusion a good clincher for training, with all the limitations and advantages of this product category. The heavier, stiffer and less comfortable than other, more specialized and more TPI, redeems itself with a period almost twice a much lower cost, an almost equal fluency, and a good grip on wet and all situations of poor adhesion. The profile of the tread, then giving up a bag of speed in the entry of the corners, to encourage greater support and a better footprint under braking on the ground, in the interest of safety. Ultimately an excellent product for those who "grind" miles in any weather conditions and look for a clincher cheap, but good and safe. The price, finally, about 16.95 Euro seems appropriate.
